About the role
- Develop and deliver an annual programme of initiatives that celebrate Newcastle United’s legends and ambassadors, ensuring they feel valued, connected, and integral to the club’s ongoing story.
- Coordinate face‑to‑face and digital activities and communications that ensure meaningful relationships between legends and ambassadors, and the wider club community, working independently to create memorable experiences.
- Collaborate across departments including Communications, Hospitality, Marketing, Retail and Football Operations to provide seamless support and recognition, embedding excellence in every interaction.
Role Requirements
- Perform duties with due regard to club policies and procedures and legislative requirements at all times.
- Ensure implementation of the club’s health & safety, safeguarding, welfare and equality policies to create a safe working environment for all.
- Ensure working practices comply with relevant legislation, including data protection/GDPR requirements.
- Undertake continuous professional development and any additional training required.
What you’ll do
- Create an initial Legends & Ambassador Engagement Plan of activities and events that strengthens the connection between former legends, ambassadors, and Newcastle United.
- Deliver an annual calendar of face‑to‑face and digital initiatives and events that ensure our legends feel valued and included in the life of the club.
- Map engagement journeys for legends and ambassadors, ensuring every interaction is meaningful, respectful, and enhances their sense of belonging.
- Maintain regular contact with legends and ambassadors via phone, email, or other appropriate methods to build strong professional relationships.
- Manage administration of program delivery, keeping detailed reporting of engagement activity and maintaining accurate records.
- Work with the internal marketing team to create and manage digital, print and multimedia marketing assets aligned with brand guidelines and heritage storytelling.
- Evaluate the success of initiatives and events, producing feedback reports and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate and record ambassador appearances across departments, ensuring seamless organisation and strong club representation.
- Deliver other engagement activities as required to strengthen stakeholder relationships.
- Promote the Newcastle United brand and ethos in a professional, strong and positive manner.
- Any other reasonable duties.
