Overview
Newcastle United Women are seeking a dedicated and experienced Strength & Conditioning Coach to support the on-pitch physical development and performance of all NUW players. This role is integral to the delivery of the Club’s performance objectives and will work closely with coaches and the wider multidisciplinary team to implement evidence-informed athletic development programmes.

Newcastle United Women are seeking a dedicated and experienced Strength & Conditioning Coach to support the on-pitch physical development and performance of all NUW players. This role is integral to the delivery of the Club’s performance objectives and will work closely with coaches and the wider multidisciplinary team to implement evidence-informed athletic development programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and review on-pitch athletic development and strength & conditioning programmes aligned with the NUW Performance Plan.
- Collaborate with the medical team to support later-stage rehabilitation and return-to-play strategies.
- Implement physical profiling systems to inform individual development and rehabilitation plans.
- Ensure effective communication of S&C practices across the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of physical performance data and ensure all sessions are risk assessed.
- Attend all NUW first team matches, including home, away and pre-season fixtures.
- Represent the NUW Performance Department at relevant meetings and events.
- Support player education and provide regular progression updates.
- Engage in continuous professional development and uphold professional standards in line with UKSCA guidelines.
- Adhere to all Club policies, including health & safety, safeguarding, welfare, equality, and GDPR compliance.
Your impact
You will have skills and experience in the following areas:
- Proven experience in a high-performance multidisciplinary environment
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated impact in physical development, particularly in speed and change of direction
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online programme design platforms
- Ability to interpret and apply performance data to practice
- Experience in elite women’s football or working with female athletes
- Experience in injury rehabilitation and return-to-play programmes
Location
This role is based in Newcastle upon Tyne. If you are not located in the Northeast and unable to relocate, we will not be able to progress your application.
