About the role
We’re looking for an individual to join our team where you will design and deliver age-appropriate athletic development programmes to improve physical performance and reduce injury risk in Academy players. You will support the long-term athletic development of each individual player in line with the Academy’s holistic model.
Your impact
You will have skills and experience in:
Planning, delivering, and reviewing evidence-informed strength and conditioning programmes aligned with the NUW Performance Plan.
Conducting physical testing and monitoring player progress to inform training plans.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on rehabilitation, return-to-play, and injury prevention strategies.
Providing S&C support on training and match days, home and away.
Maintaining accurate records and performance data in line with league and professional standards.
Educating coaches on integrating S&C into technical sessions.
Supporting player education on nutrition, recovery, and healthy habits.
Managing the Academy’s S&C Performance Management system.
Maintaining and developing S&C equipment and facilities.
Upholding UKSCA standards and ethical conduct.
About the team
You will work for the Newcastle United Women’s Academy, collaborating closely with coaches, medical staff, and performance professionals to deliver a high-quality, player-centred development environment.
Location
This role is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, with an expectation of working 3 days per week from the office. Please note, if you are not located in the Northeast and unable to relocate, we regret that we will not be able to progress your application.
