About the role
We’re looking for a Steward Coordinator to join our Safety & Security team where you will manage the Steward Operation to ensure the safety and security of our supporters and customers at matchdays and events.
Acting as a primary first point of contact in relation to all Steward Operation matters, you will liaise between management and the steward team.
Your impact
Recruitment and Training: Working collaboratively with People and Talent, you will oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and induction of stewards. You will ensure all staff are appropriately trained and qualified, working towards relevant safety certificates.
Operational Management: You will manage the Steward Operation for match days and other stadium events. Coordinating with the Safety Officer to ensure optimal positioning of stewards and police resources.
Liaison and Communication: You will have effective communication skills and act as the primary point of contact for all Steward Operation matters. You will collaborate across multiple stakeholders, ensuring a proactive and positive approach.
Compliance and Record-Keeping: You will ensure all working practices comply with relevant legislation and club policies. You will maintain accurate records of qualifications and training.
You will have Previous supervisory experience within large scale events management is essential as well as Level 4 Diploma in Spectator Safety Management or be prepared to work towards.
About the team
You will join our Safety and Security team, reporting to our Head of Safety & Security and will work closely with the Deputy Safety Officer.
Location
This role is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, with an expectation of working 3 days per week from the office. Please note, if you are not located in the Northeast and unable to relocate, we regret that we will not be able to progress your application.
