About the role

You will lead the day-to-day delivery for the U11 and U12 age groups, working closely with the Head of Coach & Player Development and multidisciplinary staff to support player progression into the Youth Development phase. As Lead Coach for the U12 squad, you will play a key role in planning, delivering and reviewing coaching programmes aligned to the Club’s playing and coaching philosophy.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver and implement the Academy’s playing and coaching philosophy across the U11/U12 squads
  • Plan, deliver and review coaching sessions and the games programme in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Lead training and matchday activity for the U12 squad as Lead Coach
  • Monitor and review individual player development, including leading regular player review meetings
  • Contribute to player progression planning and provide regular updates on development
  • Work collaboratively with performance, medical, analysis and player care staff to ensure a holistic development environment
  • Support and mentor part-time coaches, including contributing to their development plans
  • Ensure all activities are aligned with EPPP requirements and accurately recorded within performance systems

Required qualifications and experience

  • FA Advanced Youth Award (or working towards)
  • FA Safeguarding Certificate and FA Basic First Aid for Sport
  • Experience working within the professional game
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP)
  • Understanding of safeguarding, welfare and equality standards
  • Driving licence
