About the role

We’re looking for a talented individual to join our team to help us develop our next generation of footballing talent within our foundation phase.

Joining our Academy family and reporting into the Lead Phase Coach you will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of the Academy coaching curriculum and support the development of players at Newcastle United Academy, under the guidance of the Heads of Player and Coach Development.

You will effectively coach, mentor and develop the performance of players within our foundation phase, whilst assisting the Coach (Lead) to plan, prepare and deliver well structured, enjoyable and accurate sessions. You will work within the Coach Competency Framework (CFF) and review individual performance against the CCF for all aspects of the roles.

Your impact

You will have significant experience of working with players within the professional game. It is essential that you hold (or are working towards) the Football Association (FA) Advanced Coaching Licence - UEFA ‘B’ Licence, FA Safeguarding Certificate and FA Basic First Aid for Sport.

You will also hold Professional membership of FA Licenced Coaches Club.

Although not essential, possession of a sports/teaching or other relevant degree and mentoring/personal coaching qualification; as would experience of working with players within the professional game and experience of analysis software packages such as Sports Code.
