About the Role

We’re looking for a highly organised and analytical individual to join our Procurement team as a Buyer Analyst. In this newly created role, you will play a key part in the development and transformation of our Procurement function.

You will support the Head of Procurement and the Senior Buyer across a wide range of commercial activities — from supplier onboarding and due diligence, to managing the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process, monitoring compliance and helping to develop procurement reporting, KPIs and efficiencies across the Club. This is an exciting opportunity to influence how procurement operates at Newcastle United and contribute to a function with significant growth and impact potential.

Your Impact

  • Support strategic and operational procurement activities to deliver cost efficiencies while ensuring compliance with Club policies, values and delegated authorities.
  • Use Workday to review, monitor and improve procurement workflows.
  • Support supplier due diligence, onboarding, and development of a preferred supplier list.
  • Manage and monitor P2P activity, reporting on compliance and recommending improvements.
  • Contribute to departmental reporting, KPI development and contract database improvements.
  • Support formal commercial exercises, including RFX processes, risk mitigation and whole‑life cost assessments.
  • Research market trends and identify opportunities for innovation and cost savings.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure quality, value and reliability.
  • Promote sustainable procurement in line with the Club’s SECR objectives.
  • Champion procurement best practice across the Club.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in procurement, ideally within indirect categories.
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience creating procurement reports, particularly KPI reporting.
  • Strong project management and budget management skills.
  • Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Studying toward MCIPS (or qualified), with negotiation training.
  • Full UK driving licence.

About the Team

You will be part of our growing Procurement team, reporting into the Head of Procurement, and working closely with colleagues across the Club to enhance procurement processes, systems and supplier engagement. This is a new role in a developing function — offering scope to learn, influence and progress.
