Workshop Mechanic

Shift and tool allowance up to £2,000 pa

About the job:

Your role would involve carrying out planned and preventative maintenance along with diagnostic fault finding and reactive repairs to a wide variety of fleet vehicles from tractors to ride-on mowers, to collection freighters. With sound health and safety knowledge you’ll also have good IT skills, experience of vehicle electrics, and hydraulic systems. Mot experience and taxi inspections are also part of this key role, so good customer skills are, too. Supporting essential services, it’s important that you’re a team player with a flexible outlook.

Only on the rare occasions where we have to reschedule services would you be required to work at weekends, although we do work on bank holidays and have an on-call service.

Requirements:

• You’ll have completed a recognised apprenticeship or have lots of motor industry experience with light and heavy vehicles, and hold a clean LGV license with category 3 entitlement.
• You’ll be experienced in both roadside and workshop repairs.
• If you don’t already have an IRTEC HGV qualification you’ll be prepared to work towards one within an agreed period.
