About the role
You will lead the Air Traffic Engineering Department to ensure that a safe, customer focused, and compliant service is delivered to ensure that all CNS Equipment, AGL and other airport infrastructure are maintained and repaired. The Senior Air Traffic Engineer will support the Head of Airside with the development of the long-term strategy for Air Traffic Engineering to ensure innovation, new technologies, and emerging regulations are combined to ensure the delivery of an efficient, safe and compliant service.
What will you be doing?
- Recruit, appraise, develop, and manage the Air Traffic Engineering team
- Be responsible for the daily operational output of Air Traffic Engineering
- Arrange watch rosters to ensure staff availability including on-call duties
- Co‑ordinate and supervise all planned maintenance
- Lead, motivate, and manage by example; ensuring that all staff are aware of the appropriate performance standards, the expected standards of behaviour, and the expectations of our customers and key stakeholders
- Plan, control and manage cost budgets
- Coordinate and lead the Air Traffic Engineering element of CAA oversight audits
- Act as the point of contact with the CAA SRG in relation to Air Traffic Engineering activities, ensuring that effective dialogue and communication
- Support the delivery of ATS projects in relation to equipment upgrades and replacements
- Support the Head of Airside in delivering the departmental objectives

- Operation of computer systems related to the provision of ATC services as well as common office software
Qualifications
- ATSEP (Air Traffic Safety Electronic Personnel) Qualified
- Accredited management qualifications would be an advantage, though not essential
