Over recent years more than 46,000 trees have been planted on Airport-owned land to support its carbon offset activities and enhance biodiversity.

The role

We have an opportunity for an Environmental and Sustainability Coordinator to join our Sustainability and Communications Team.

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Sustainability & Planning, you will support the delivery of a strategic, coordinated and proactive environmental and sustainability agenda for the Airport and ensure that all environmental obligations and responsibilities are met.

The responsibilities are not limited to but will include:

  • Maintain energy and environmental monitoring processes for the Airport, including processing and interpreting data outputs (e.g. solar farm data, fleet fuel use data, water quality, air quality and environmental incidents reports)
  • Active monitoring of our noise and flight tracking software and assist in the noise complaints service
  • Lead the preparation of the airports annual ESG report
  • To assist in the development & implementation of decarbonisation projects
  • Provide support to successfully maintain key industrial accreditations such as Airport Carbon Accreditation scheme
  • Support in developing stakeholder partnerships both internally and externally e.g. bimonthly sustainability working groups with business partners
  • Assist in departmental environmental audits/plans to manage environmental risks
  • Provide support in public consultations with the local community and other interested parties, as necessary e.g. Airport Consultative Committee, Noise Action Plan

Who we are looking for

You will be a logical thinker with the ability to work collaboratively and balance competing priorities. As well as this, you will be comfortable compiling and analysing data, identifying trends and reporting on environmental performance.

The successful applicant should also demonstrate strong organisational skills, adaptability and persistence when faced with demanding challenges.

However, the most important attribute is a passion for both protecting and reducing our impact on the environment, as well as transitioning to a more sustainable future.

A degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability or a related subject is desirable.
