About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Semi Skilled Engineering Technician (Tech 2) to join our busy Engineering department. Working alongside a Skilled Engineering Technician where required, this practical hands-on role will require a range of maintenance duties for electrical and mechanical building services, such as:

  • Heating and ventilation systems
  • Fire alarm and emergency lighting systems
  • Plumbing and toilet systems
  • Baggage handling belt systems
  • Lagoon and drainage systems

Working within our airport environment, airport terminal building and throughout the various aspects of the wider airport infrastructure in accordance with accepted industry standards, whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer care. Currently the Engineering Technicians work an average of 42 hours per week. This is made up of 12 hour shifts on a 4 week pattern.

About you

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and willing to adopt a hardworking and pro-active approach to work. You will also be a confident and articulate communicator, who has the ability to successfully engage with a wide variety of people as well as build effective relationships and deliver excellent customer service. Flexibility to cover our 24 hour operation and possess an ability to learn is essential. Applicants must be physically fit and hold a full and clean driving licence (C1 endorsement preferable) and be computer literate, conversant with MS applications.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate will have experience in any of the following skills:

  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Mechanical Maintenance
  • Painting & Decorating
  • Builder or joiner

In addition to this, knowledge of building services and building maintenance is highly desirable.
