The predicted salary is between 16.41 - 16.41 £ per hour.

Permanent, full year, part time role 14.4 hrs per week - 30 days annual leave – Pro-rata.

Working hours: Weekday shifts of 7.2 hrs duration falling between 07.00am to 07.00pm and covered by an early and late shift pattern. Additional hours, including outside core times and at weekends, from time to time.

Salary: £27,171 - £30,720 per annum (£14.51 - £16.41 per hour) - Pro-rata for 14.4 hours - £10,868 - £12,288 according to experience.

We are seeking a proactive and committed Caretaker to join our Facilities Team, supporting the safe, smooth and efficient operation of our vibrant and dynamic school. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a varied and rewarding role, where no two days are the same, and your contribution will make a visible difference every day.

Reporting to the Premises Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the school’s buildings, plant and equipment, and ensuring the security and presentation of our premises. From minor repairs and health & safety checks to supporting the set-up of events and activities, your efforts will help create a safe, welcoming and inspiring environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintaining site security and access control systems
  • Carrying out routine inspections and planned preventative maintenance
  • Supporting with emergency repairs and ensuring safe operation of plant and services
  • Monitoring the site for developing hazards or deterioration
  • Preparing spaces and facilities for events, exams, performances and lettings
  • Supporting cleaning and grounds teams to uphold high standards across the site

You’ll be part of a supportive, friendly team and will receive ongoing training and development opportunities. We will never ask you to work beyond your capabilities and will provide mentoring where needed to help you confidently fulfil your role.

Qualifications:

  • Practical experience in premises maintenance and basic trade skills (e.g. plumbing, joinery, electrics)
  • A strong understanding of site safety and a commitment to safeguarding
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A flexible, ‘can-do’ approach with a high level of reliability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, approachable manner
