We are seeking an experienced Solutions Finance Manager to lead and oversee key aspects of our Newcastle Strategic Solutions Finance operations and reporting. This is a senior, handsâon role with responsibility for ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and effective management of banking and payment operations across our client base.
You will manage and develop a specialist finance team, acting as a technical expert and escalation point, while maintaining strong relationships with banking partners, payment providers, and clients. The role plays a critical part in ensuring high standards of control, compliance, and service delivery in a regulated environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching and developing the Solutions Finance team, setting clear objectives and performance standards
- Developing, implementing and maintaining strong systems of financial control, including reconciliations, risk controls and procedures
- Overseeing the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely management information and client reporting
- Managing relationships with banks, payment scheme providers and other external suppliers
- Acting as the finance lead on new client onboarding, system changes and operational improvement projects
- Supporting internal, external and client audit activity and ensuring audit recommendations are implemented effectively
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, automation and enhanced control across finance operations
This role offers the opportunity to combine technical finance expertise with leadership, stakeholder engagement and operational improvement in a growing and complex finance function.
About You
You will have strong experience in operational finance, financial control, and team leadership. You are comfortable operating in a handsâon environment while maintaining oversight of risk, controls, and performance.
Youâll bring:
- Proven experience in finance operations, financial control, or financial reporting roles
- Experience leading and developing finance teams
- Strong understanding of reconciliations, general ledger management, and internal controls
- Exposure to banking, payments, cash management or transactionâbased environments
- Confidence working with auditors, external providers and senior stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- A proactive, solutionsâfocused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
Experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or regulated environments is highly desirable, as is familiarity with payment schemes, banking platforms, and systems change or transformation projects.
