We are actively recruiting for a Production Operator for Northumbrian Water based at their Waste Water site in Wallsend. This position is a 3 month temporary role and they are looking for someone to start immediately.
In this position you will operate and control major sewage treatment installations e.g. coastal works and/or mix of Wastewater Assets and Water Assets.
Duties include:
- Ensure works assets are appropriately operated and maintained to maintain compliance.
- Ensure effective liaison with and co-ordination of EMI personnel.
- Maximise plant assets e.g. chemicals, energy etc.
- Carry out basic effluent/mixed liquor analysis; interpret data and effect change as appropriate.
- Effectively use and interrogate SCADA system to fault find and optimise plant utilisation, and use other IT systems (e.g. Lotus Notes, Word, Excel).
- Carry out basic instrument calibration.
- Carry out basic fault finding on plant.
- Participate in standby rota.
- Willingness to work overtime at short notice in order to meet business needs.
In addition, line managers may request employees to carry out other reasonable tasks in line with operational needs.
Technical competencies required:
- Ability to analyse and interpret data to analyse problems and find solutions.
- Competent in use of risk assessment procedures.
- Confined space competent person.
- Fitness level, confined space permit entries, use of escape sets.
- Lock-off and tag-off (LOTO) competent.
