TeacherActive is proud to be working with a school in the Sunderland area. The school aims to provide an academic and pastoral provision for students. The ethos of the school aims to provide a bespoke approach and commitment to inclusivity. The school is looking for a highly experienced and resilient SEND teaching assistant working across both Key Stage 3 and 4. The role will also involve working 1:1, working with students in small groups and supporting the class teacher within the classroom setting.

What a Successful SEND Teaching Assistant Will Have:

  • Level 2 or above qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools or at least 1 year experience.
  • Experience working with SEND children with varying needs.
  • Willing to work across key stages.
  • A great ability to interact with pupils and keep them engaged.
  • Exceptional classroom management skills.
