Overview
Newcastle College is seeking a dedicated Specialist Support Practitioner, trained to a minimum Level 2 in BSL, to support students with sensory impairments, including d/Deaf and vision impairment. You will be at the heart of student success and will deliver targeted support and contribute to inclusive learning and access to campus and curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality one to one or small group support to students
- Support inclusive learning
- Help students access campus and curriculum
- Support awareness raising and understanding of access and inclusion
Qualifications
- Level 2 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification and willingness to work toward Level 3
- Level 2 English & Maths (or equivalent)
- A warm, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
- Flexibility to work evenings and support off-site provision
