Overview
Newcastle College, in partnership with The Supply Register, is seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef Lecturer to join their hospitality and catering team. As a Pastry Chef Lecturer, you\’ll deliver inspiring and practical sessions covering a range of pastry and dessert-making skills. You\’ll share your expertise, mentor learners, and help them develop the confidence and technical ability to succeed in the industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced pastry chef looking to take the next step into teaching or for a qualified lecturer wanting to bring their creativity into a new environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver practical and theory-based lessons in patisserie, confectionery, and dessert production to learners aged 16+.
- Support and guide students to develop professional skills, creativity, and industry-standard techniques.
- Provide high-quality feedback and conduct one-to-one tutorials to support learner progress.
- Ensure safe and hygienic working practices in the kitchen at all times.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement within the hospitality team.
What we\’re looking for
- Proven industry experience as a pastry chef or patisserie specialist (essential).
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) – or willingness to work towards one.
- A Level 3 qualification in Professional Cookery, Patisserie, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A genuine passion for sharing knowledge and inspiring learners.
