Are you passionate about working with children and families and keen to start a career in Youth Justice?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced individual to assist our Case Managers to deliver high quality services to children and their families within Youth Justice Service based in Newcastle Civic Centre.
We work with children between the ages of 10 and 17 who have come into contact with the Criminal Justice System, and are subject to early intervention programmes or statutory court orders.
We apply a child first, offender second ethos which is centred around strength based and relational practice.
As a Youth Justice Support Worker, you will be supporting children to engage in their intervention plans to prevent further escalation into the Criminal Justice System and to promote positive outcomes for them.
Restorative justice practice will also form part of the role, working with children to repair the harm for those affected by crime.
This will involve direct work and group work.
You will also be required to cover duty rotas, including acting as Appropriate Adult.
You will be part of an experienced and supportive team, providing high quality and effective youth justice services on a citywide basis.
