If you aspire to really make a difference and are passionate about delivering effective services, then our Traffic Signals design team, part of Network Management and Construction within the Transport Division, could be the place for you. This is an exciting time to be joining the Traffic Signals team working alongside the Urban Traffic Management and Control team as we work to deliver major transport improvement schemes not just in Newcastle, but also working with partners in the other northeast local authorities.

The successful post holder will have a proven track record and recent experience of designing innovative solutions to traffic congestion and progression problems. You will make use of computer simulation models and calculations based on site parameters in order to optimise capacity and non‑delay through the network. You will also be skilled in a number of software modelling packages, AutoCAD, complex configurations and advanced programming.
