The Property Team:
At this exciting time, Newcastle City Council is looking to recruit three talented Senior Surveyors to join its Property Team.
We are expanding our team to support the delivery of the council’s ambitious objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing service that plays a key role in shaping, managing and influencing the council’s property portfolio. The expanded team will help drive improvement, support investment and ensure our assets deliver the best outcomes for the city and its communities.
We have a proud record of success, playing an integral role working with our partners in the delivery of many landmark sites within the City supporting mixed use development, housing, tech and science businesses.
Working with key stakeholders and businesses, we are helping to deliver the £50m City Centre Transformation Programme, transforming this prestigious public realm to create a safer, greener and healthier space for all; and the intrinsically linked project to reawaken of the Grainger Market, following a successful bid to the Government’s Levelling Up Fund.
The roles:
One of the roles will sit within the Property Management team which includes all aspects of Landlord & Tenant functions. The other roles will sit within Development and Disposals which will include acquisitions and disposal to support the Asset Management function and working with JV’s to support delivery of the City's redevelopment. Additional work may include acquisition, disposal, valuation and agency across all commercial property sectors.
The role will require:
- MRICS / RICS Registered Valuer
- Commercial acumen
- Working knowledge of Landlord and Tenant legislation
- Experience of Newcastle commercial sector
- Valuation skills and experience
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Dedicated work ethic
- Articulate and numerate with good analytical skills
- Motivated with rigorous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience in the production of reports
