Newcastle Civic Centre
Do you enjoy helping people, providing excellent customer service, and making a positive contribution to keeping people and buildings safe?
We are looking to recruit a Security Assistant to join our Security Services team at the Civic Centre. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will be a key point of contact for staff, visitors, and customers, helping to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment.
Working as part of our team, you will provide a visible security presence, manage access to the building, support emergency procedures, handle deliveries and courier services, and respond professionally to enquiries and incidents. No two days are the same, and you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of one of the City's key buildings.
This post is 37 hours per week and operates on a four-week rotating shift pattern. Shifts are scheduled between 7:00am and 7:00pm, providing cover across the Civic Centre's operational hours.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and customer service skills who can remain calm under pressure, deal confidently with a range of people and situations, has good IT skills, and holds a full UK driving licence. Experience of working in a security environment would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
In return, we offer a generous annual leave entitlement, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, family-friendly policies, employee discounts, wellbeing support, and a range of learning and development opportunities.
Join us and help keep the Civic Centre safe, secure, and welcoming for everyone.
