If you have experience of working in highway maintenance in a civil engineering environment, this could be just the opportunity for you. What the role will involve:

  • You will be integral in making a positive impact to the City by giving advice and guidance around constructing carriageways, footways reconstruction, drainage work and duct installation.
  • You will have the knowledge of interpreting public utility information and detailed drawings in relation to these construction works.
  • You will be supporting and advising colleagues and apprentices whilst complying with Newcastle City Council's policies and procedures.

  • We are looking for a real team player and someone who can read detailed plans to carry out work to specification.
  • Someone who has a real passion to ensure the safety of staff, residents and visitors to the City.
  • You should have experience and knowledge of all aspects of civil engineering construction works, with knowledge of construction related health and safety issues, to support the delivery of environmental improvement schemes on the highway network across the city.
