Waverley is a one form entry primary school located in the outer west of Newcastle and is a founding member of the ONE Academy Trust. Our Local Governing Board are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, friendly and highly motivated teacher to join our team from Monday 20th April 2026.

You will be required to be responsible for learner achievement within the Reception class through effective teaching and learning. You will be responsible for the monitoring and development of an aspect of pupil learning or curriculum area across the school. Early Careers Teachers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications
  • Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Demonstrate consistently good or outstanding teaching experience in Early Years.
  • Be experienced and/or trained in Ruth Miskin Read, Write, Inc.
  • Have the ability to assess children accurately and to use data to ensure good progress towards GLD outcomes.
  • Have knowledge of GLD and the Reception Baseline Tracker.
  • Be open to working collaboratively with Nursery and KS1 colleagues, especially around transition.

You will be based at Waverley Primary School.

At the request of the ONE Trust, you may be required to conduct your duties elsewhere to facilitate learning or social activities off the school premises. The Trust reserves the right to change your area of work, temporarily or otherwise, as may be required, subject to reasonable notice and prior consultation with you. Please also note that this post is subject to a six-month probationary period.
