Motor Vehicle Technician HGV Fitter 37 hours per week (Mon- Fri 5-day week)
Newcastle City Council (City Transport) are seeking an experienced time served motor vehicle technician to take up a permanent position.
City Transport maintains & repairs a diverse range of vehicles, plant, & horticultural equipment as well as having two MOT stations, testing class 4,5 & 7 vehicles & Licenced Taxis & hackney carriages.
Will you be the successful candidate to join the team, primarily in our Heavy Goods vehicle workshop at Newington Road.
We are looking for someone full time with the skills & experience to achieve the effective & efficient maintenance, diagnostics, & repair of the council's Heavy Goods Vehicle fleet 3.5t and upwards.
You will have served a recognised apprenticeship in motor vehicle engineering to NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification & experience in HGV service inspections and MOT preparation.
A category B driving licence is essential with categories D1 or C licence being advantageous.
