Newcastle City Council is seeking to recruit three HDRC Project Managers (fixed-term for 2 years) to join our Public Involvement and Community Engagement team and our Research Culture and Governance team within the NIHR Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing programme that is strengthening how research is done with, by, and for the people of Newcastle.
Responsibilities
- Public Involvement & Community Engagement (PICE): Involve diverse groups of people and communities meaningfully in research. Ensure community centred evidence shapes council decision-making. Build strong, trusted relationships with voluntary and community sector partners. Champion inclusion so research leads to real world change for Newcastle residents.
- Research Culture & Governance: Strengthen research culture across the council and its partners. Support governance, ethics, and responsible research practices. Build capability, confidence, and systems that enable high quality research. Embed openness, collaboration, and integrity into how research is designed, delivered, and used.
You will be joining a supportive HDRC team in a forward thinking council committed to tackling health inequalities and delivering lasting change for our residents. If you have experience in public involvement, community engagement or developing culture and governance, and enthusiasm for improving outcomes for people and communities, we want to hear from you.
