Wingrove Primary School is seeking to appoint two appropriately qualified and experienced primary teachers – these posts are not suitable for ECTs.

Post 1: One is to cover secondment, for one year, from 1st September 2026 through to 31st August 2027.

Post 2: The second is to cover maternity leave, for two terms, from 1st September 2026 through to 25th March 2027.

Requirements: The successful applicants will possess excellent subject knowledge, creativity and communication skills, and will be able to:

  • demonstrate effective, successful teaching and organisational skills
  • provide a stimulating learning environment both indoors and outdoors
  • enthuse and motivate children to learn and progress
  • engage and involve parents, professionals and the wider community, developing excellent relationships to support learning and ensure great outcomes for all children
  • work effectively as part of a team, reflecting on their teaching and children’s learning to help others develop as teachers

Wingrove Primary School is a diverse inner-city primary school in the West End of Newcastle. We proudly serve a vibrant community with 43% pupil premium, 20% SEND, and 87% EAL pupils speaking over 30 languages. Our ethos is firmly rooted in inclusion, kindness, and celebrating diversity.
