An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Chef to lead the catering service at Stockfield Primary School.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high-quality meal service for approximately 300 pupils each day, supported by a team of five Catering Assistants.

About the Role

As Chef, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring meals are prepared and served to a high standard while maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene, and health and safety practices.

Has experience working in a busy catering environment.

Can lead, motivate, and support a team of five Catering Assistants.

Is organised, reliable, and able to work independently.

Has a passion for delivering high-quality meals and excellent customer service.

Is flexible with working hours to meet the needs of the service.

Development Opportunity

This role is ideal for someone looking to progress their career within Newcastle City Council Catering Services. Full training, mentoring, and ongoing support will be provided, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge and explore future progression opportunities within the service.

Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city and Gateshead providing building cleaning, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services.

We have a large team of cleaners, cleaner supervisors, facility supervisors (caretakers), catering assistants, assistant chefs and chefs working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings.
