An opportunity exists for suitable individuals to work within the Facility Services as aFacility Supervisor (Caretaker) at St Michaels RC Primary School in Elswick.

32.00 HOURS PER WEEK (SPLIT SHIFT)
7.00-10.00 & 14.30-18.00 Monday to Thursday
7.00-10.00 & 15.00-18.00 Friday

To succeed in this role it is essential that you have:

  • good communications skills,
  • the ability to work with limited supervision,
  • be able to carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks,
  • be capable of regular stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying of equipment, materials/furniture.

Caretaking experience in a school would be an advantage.

You must be able to undertake the split shift requirements of the role and to manage your own time.

You will be responsible for

  • the security of the premises, setting of alarms, general health and safety issues relating to the building, as well as a range of porterage duties.
  • There will be a responsibility for the supervision of cleaning staff.

You will be expected to be able to deal with varying workloads and the cleaning of a defined area.

There will need to be a degree of flexibility around certain key events in the school calendar e.g parent’s evenings, governing body meetings, Christmas, and summer fairs etc.

We have a large team of cleaners, cleaner supervisors, facility supervisors (caretakers), catering assistants, assistant chef’s and chef’s working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings.
