One Trust is a Multi Academy Trust, and this role is with Milecastle Primary School, Hillhead Parkway, Chapel House, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE5 1LH. Required for 1st September 2026. Milecastle Primary School is a one‑form entry primary school with 200 pupils, located in the Outer West of Newcastle. The school has been part of the ONE (Owl North East) Trust since January 2024.
We are looking for a Deputy Head Teacher who:
- is an excellent classroom practitioner who can lead on curriculum development and teaching and learning across the school
- has an inspirational and inclusive teaching and leadership style which will empower and motivate others to reach their full potential
- has a proven track record of high expectations in raising standards
- is committed to our inclusive approach which celebrates cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic diversity
- has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- has very high expectations of behaviour and is passionate about children’s learning
- will be able to further develop our collaborative, team approach
- is able to maintain and strengthen our current links with parents and the wider community

You will be based at Milecastle Primary School. At the request of the ONE Trust, you may be required to conduct your duties elsewhere to facilitate learning or social activities off the school premises. The Trust reserves the right to change your area of work, temporarily or otherwise, as may be required, subject to reasonable notice and prior consultation with you.
Milecastle Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. The appointment will depend upon receipt of an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the D&B Service and a range of other recruitment checks.
