An opportunity exists for suitable individuals to work within the Facility Operations as a Chef working 35 hours per week, term time only.

Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city and Gateshead providing building cleaning, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services. We have a large team of cleaners, cleaner supervisors, facility supervisors (caretakers), catering assistants, assistant chefs and chefs working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings. What we are looking for:
We are currently looking for reliable and friendly people with a positive attitude to join our team as a Chef. It is essential you hold a minimum NVQ level 2 in Food Processing and Cooking or equivalent. You must also have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working within a busy catering environment involving leading a team.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a Level 2 in Food Processing and Cooking (or equivalent)
- Has experience of supervision or leadership of a team
- Can manage and motivate others
- Can deliver high standards of meal production and service
- Can demonstrate good relationships with stakeholders
- Is self-motivated and able to work to fixed deadlines
- Can demonstrate high standards of customer service
- Can develop and introduce new ideas for menus and foodservice
- Has strong interpersonal skills and is positive, innovative and solution focused
- Has experience of working in a catering environment
