About the Role

Reporting to the Technical Lead DevOps, you are a Senior technical professional, who provides a high degree of technical DevOps and cloud based expertise to the team. You provide the highest standard of technical design, delivery, operation and continual improvement of the cloud based capabilities that underpin the organisations drive towards cloud adoption.

As a senior engineer, you are responsible for contributing technical expertise and thought leadership to cloud based technology strategies, roadmaps and service improvement initiatives. Ensuring Cloud architecture is developed and maintained in line with the D&T strategy, contributing to the strategic direction of the DevOps practice and toolchain and the implementation, deployment, and integration of solutions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery.

Using automation and IaC where possible to improve efficiencies and ensure consistency across environments providing effective monitoring and alerting capability is in place to ensure systems operate as designed. You will also deliver high quality services to agreed service levels and provide support and mentoring to more junior colleagues to raise the technical standards in the team.

About You

You bring a strong technical background relevant to the role, combined with a proven ability to develop, mentor, and lead high-performing teams. You are confident managing supplier relationships and engaging effectively with stakeholders, while demonstrating clear, concise communication in both written and spoken form. You are comfortable challenging where needed, applying sound judgement, and demonstrating effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.

You excel at managing multiple, often complex tasks, consistently meeting deadlines without compromising quality. With strong attention to detail and a resilient mindset, you adapt quickly to changing priorities. You are experienced in risk management and maintain a continuous improvement approach in everything you do.

You have solid experience in leadership, including supervising, mentoring, and motivating others, and are comfortable working within project-based environments. Your background includes working in IT services within regulated, financial services settings, ideally with exposure to NSSL technologies and a managed risk culture. You have experience working with corporate clients, managing suppliers, and delivering change and projects, alongside responsibility for developing and managing service budgets.
