As a Graduate Data Scientist Apprentice, you will work towards a Level 7 (MSc equivalent) qualification. You will gain the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to become a fully-fledged data scientist. You will work within a major employer in the North East, with a focus on community and employee engagement.
Your role will involve managing data end-to-end: querying databases, using R/Python to build models and create insights, and communicating findings via tools like Excel, R Shiny, or Power BI. You will contribute to the development of administrative processes and collaborate with partners on system data development and distribution. You will also help maintain and improve the Financial Advice Management Information (MI) suite to support Newcastle Financial Advisers' growth.
With support from your manager and mentor, you will set objectives to ensure your development. The program includes a team challenge project with the Early Talent community to enhance your learning experience.
About You: We're seeking an enthusiastic individual passionate about programming, data insights, and storytelling. You should thrive on challenges and be eager to create solutions from scratch. A minimum 2:1 honours degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline (Maths, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar) is required. Strong communication, attention to detail, analytical, and IT skills, including proficiency in MS 365, are essential.
