About the role

Would you like to be part of a team who has won Best Regional Building Society for 9 years running? A team who believes that keeping financial advice on our high streets is important for everyone in our local communities. Do you thrive in a face-to-face customer focused environment?

If so, our Customer Adviser role could be the perfect fit for you. Utilising your outstanding people skills, you will be engaging with our customers on a daily basis, taking the time to listen and really understand their financial needs and goals.

Every day is different, from opening and setting up the tills for the day, making customer appointments, processing customer transactions at the counter, assisting in the opening of savings accounts to cashing up and closing at the end of the day. The team also places importance on taking a moment to connect with colleagues over a cup of tea.

The hours of work are 21 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9am – 5pm, plus Saturdays worked on a rota (typically until 12pm).

Responsibilities

  • Open and set up tills for the working day
  • Make customer appointments and process transactions at the counter
  • Assist in opening savings accounts and complete cashing up/closing procedures

  • Being great with people and building relationships with customers
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to empathise
  • A natural team player who works closely with branch colleagues to deliver an outstanding customer experience
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills, even if you have not worked in financial services before
