This includes recognition of our strong contribution towards meeting Local Skills Needs under the latest version of the Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and suitably qualified individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to take on this role within the Learning Resource Centre. Reporting directly to the Group Learning Resources Co-ordinator you will be responsible for providing advice and assistance to enable users to gain maximum benefit from the Library, and the effective administration, control and development of the service.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To support student learning and assist students and staff in the use of appropriate learning materials (computers, books, journals, eResources etc.).
- To carry out general Library duties (issuing and returning resources, information retrieval, processing new stock, creating library and awareness day displays to promote library stock, shelf tidying etc.).
- To supervise the library, maintain discipline and a high standard of student conduct to ensure that users gain maximum benefit from the facilities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Has a good standard of education qualified to level 3 or equivalent and be willing to undertake any relevant professional development.
- Experience of working in a similar role.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the confidence to deal with all college users in a polite but assertive manner.
