Responsibilities include teaching and assessing courses, such as the BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Travel and Tourism and the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel. Play an active role in marketing the college and the department through open days and liaison with local employers and schools. Engage in core duties such as preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking examination papers, and developing flexible learning materials. Deliver units across the full range of the department’s provision, inspire students with varied and imaginative sessions, and maintain good retention and success rates.
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching on Travel and Tourism courses, ideally within the travel and hospitality industry.
- Appropriate subject qualification to degree or equivalent.
- Holds or is studying for a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE, PGCE/PCET, or equivalent) or willingness to train for one.
- Experience of teaching in the further education (FE) sector (preferred).
- Understanding of the working practice of the travel, hospitality and/or events management industry.
