Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Salary Range: £27,031 - £31,318 per annum
Location: Primarily based at Newcastle College (ST5 2GB), but will be required to work between the Stafford College, the Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire Institute of Technology and Leek College campuses on an ad-hoc basis.
You will be a creative thinker, have a keen eye for detail and the ability to plan and deliver on brand multi-channel marketing communications that influence opinions and behaviour both internally and externally. You’ll do this by utilising a variety of communication channels including local, regional and national media, websites, social media, and much more. You will be highly responsive, with first-class communication and customer service skills, and a fantastic team player able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting the Senior Marketing & PR Officer in the development and delivery of a cycle of multi-channel marketing and communications tactics to support student recruitment, conversion and retention.
- Support on the delivery of 16-18 youth marketing initiatives, developing the NSCG youth facing brand, including, but not limited to: working on printed collateral, events, social media marketing, website content, advertising and digital media.
- Writing and editing articulate, clear and compelling content for both traditional and online media targeting a range of audiences, including; press releases, news stories, website content, social media, prospectus, brochures, case studies and more.
- You will play a core role in the delivery of the teams’ public relations activity, working with local, regional and national media to drive positive media engagement and resultant coverage.
- Monitoring the media landscape, proactively sharing coverage with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Working with curriculum departments and internal stakeholders to identify newsworthy stories which positively promote course areas and showcase life at NSCG, with a view to supporting student recruitment.
- Assisting with the organisation of promotional events, seminars, exhibitions, recruitment fairs including: Open Events, National Apprenticeship Week, end-of-year Celebration Awards, Art Exhibitions, attending and acting as a brand ambassador, as appropriate.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Educated to Level 3 (A Level) standard or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4-9 or above, including maths & English.
- You will have had exposure to a range of marketing communication activities such as campaign and event co-ordination, public relations, content creation and email marketing.
- Ability to write clear, compelling copy for a range of purposes, with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and developing professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders including external media, peers, learners, external suppliers and managers/senior managers across the Group.
- Access to own vehicle and ability to travel within region for business purposes.
