Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is one of the very best colleges in the country. The group is currently home to a population of over 6,500 full-time students with around 2,000 adult learners and students on higher education programmes. We have over 1,500 apprentices where we work with over 850 individual employers. Our Sixth Form provision has a reputation for high academic achievement and excellence.
We are looking for enthusiastic, suitably qualified individuals with relevant experience to teach on our exciting new Esports course, in our purpose-built Esports hub, equipped with state-of-the-art gaming resources. You will support the NSCG Dragons' team in the British Esports Association events and Championships, so an enjoyment and experience of managing events and building teams is key.
You will be teaching across a range of units ranging from nutrition, health and wellbeing; Esports Events, shout-casting and video production. Our ideal candidates will be inspiring lecturers who have a proven record of innovation and a pro-active approach to delivery including to Level 2 and the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Esports. You will have also demonstrated an understanding and sensitivity towards the needs of your learners and use this to help them reach their true potential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To deliver high quality teaching on Esports across the full range of the department's provision. This may involve remote teaching, learning and assessment, via appropriate platforms when required.
- Play an active role in the marketing of the College and the Department through such activities as open days and through liaison with local employers and schools.
- Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Holds a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Has an appropriate teaching qualification, support given with this if required.
- Ideally has relevant teaching experience at Esports Level 3 Extended Diploma within the FE sector.
- Is an effective communicator and has good organisational skills.
