Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is one of the very best colleges in the country. In October 2024 we became the first and only further education provider in England to achieve a full set of outstanding grades in consecutive Ofsted Inspections. These vacancies have arisen due to a number of internal promotions and an increase in volume of students with SEND requirements. You will primarily be responsible for the care and education of students with disabilities or learning difficulties. Working under the direction of the Lead Support Tutor for additional learning support, specific duties include:
- Assisting students in their work
- Preparation of rooms, equipment and materials
- Tracking learner progress
- General individual assistance which may include attending to their health, safety, physical and hygiene needs
For the position, you will be qualified to at least Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE equivalent). Relevant experience or qualifications in an education or caring capacity, particularly supporting students or young people with learning difficulties and/or other disabilities is also desirable. A level 2 note taking qualification or equivalent is desirable.
A flexible approach to working hours will also be required to accommodate the needs of learners.
