Salary: Β£30,160 - Β£39,034 (dependant on qualifications, skills, knowledge and relevant experience)

Hours: 37 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

Working pattern: Monday - Friday

Could you inspire the next generation of plumbers while sharing your industry expertise and passion for the trade? We are excited to offer an opportunity for a knowledgeable, industry-focused and inspiring Plumbing Lecturer & Course Leader to join our Construction team at Newbury College.

About the role: As a Plumbing Lecturer & Course Leader, you will be responsible for the effective organisation, delivery and development of Plumbing, Heating and Gas programmes. You will deliver high-quality teaching and learning that inspires and motivates students, ensuring programmes meet awarding body requirements and industry standards while supporting learners to achieve their full potential.

Alongside teaching, you will lead and coordinate the Plumbing curriculum area, maintaining course documentation, assessment schedules and quality assurance processes. You will monitor learner progress, provide pastoral support, oversee literacy, numeracy and digital skills integration, and work closely with colleagues to ensure an engaging and inclusive learning experience. The role will also involve liaising with employers, supporting student recruitment and interviews, participating in open events, and keeping curriculum content up to date with current developments across the plumbing, heating and gas sectors.

Criteria

Essential criteria:

  • Relevant Plumbing, Heating and Gas qualification at Level 3 or above
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, QTS or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one
  • Experience working within the Plumbing sector
  • Experience in teaching, training, coaching or supporting learners

Desirable criteria:

  • Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications
  • Experience delivering programmes within Further Education or Adult Education
  • Experience of curriculum leadership or course organisation
  • Experience of awarding body frameworks and quality assurance processes
  • Ability to embed literacy, numeracy and digital skills into teaching and learning
