We are excited to offer this opportunity for a passionate, industry-experienced Lecturer and Course Leader in Catering to join our team.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and deliver our Catering, Cookery and Hospitality provision, helping students develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for successful careers in the industry. Working closely with employers and industry partners, you will deliver engaging practical and theory lessons across our professional cookery programmes while ensuring the curriculum remains relevant, innovative and aligned with current industry trends.

As a Catering Course Leader and Lecturer, you will take responsibility for the organisation, quality and performance of the curriculum area, monitoring student achievement, retention and progression whilst supporting continuous improvement. You will also play a key role in developing employer engagement opportunities, organising enrichment activities, supporting recruitment events and providing academic and pastoral support to students throughout their learning journey.

Criteria:

Essential criteria:

  • Relevant industry qualification at least one level above the teaching level, or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification
  • Recent industry experience within professional kitchens, catering or hospitality
  • Experience of delivering training, coaching or teaching
  • Ability to work effectively with students, employers and external agencies
  • Knowledge of current industry trends and developments

Desirable criteria:

  • Teaching qualification
  • Assessor and/or Internal Verifier qualifications
  • Mentoring or coaching qualification
  • Experience working within Further Education or Adult Education
  • Experience delivering BTEC or similar vocational qualifications
  • Food Safety qualification (Level 3 or above)
  • Experience managing practical learning environments
