Newbury College is looking for a proactive, organised, and hands-on Catering Technician to join our vibrant Catering and Hospitality team. You'll play a key role in keeping our teaching kitchens and commercial areas running smoothly. Responsibilities
- Supporting lecturers with the day-to-day organisation and maintenance of catering spaces
- Helping set up and close down practical classes
- Managing deliveries, checking stock, and ensuring accurate storage
- Keeping essential records such as fridge temperature logs in line with environmental health requirements
- Carrying out laundry duties and assisting with equipment maintenance
- Reporting and following up on any faulty equipment
- Supporting stock control of non-food items
- Assisting in our commercial kitchen and service areas when needed
- Ensuring all activity complies with HACCP, COSHH, and wider college policies including Health & Safety and Safeguarding
- Confident working independently and managing their time effectively
- Comfortable using IT systems and completing administrative tasks
- Friendly, approachable, and able to work well with both staff and students
- Organised, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards
