Newbury College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Progression and Academic Support Coach to join our inclusive learning support team at our Football Academy in Brackley. This vital role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational journey of students with learning difficulties and disabilities across a range of curriculum areas.

As a PASC, you will provide tailored academic and personal support to learners in mainstream settings, including in-class assistance and off-campus activities. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to implement individual Support Plans and EHCPs, ensuring students receive the guidance and encouragement they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver in-class support across theory and practical subjects, including English and Maths
  • Assist with literacy, numeracy, note-taking, and adapting learning materials
  • Support students outside the classroom, including safeguarding referrals and counselling access
  • Accompany learners on work experience placements and educational trips
  • Provide personal care where required
  • Act as a reader or scribe during examinations
  • Maintain accurate records including Support Plans, Action Plans, and EHCP documentation
  • Promote pastoral support and follow up on attendance and punctuality
  • Participate in enrichment activities, departmental meetings, and learner voice initiatives
