Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm (35 hours per week)

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and commercially aware Executive Assistant to provide exceptional support directly to the CEO and Executive Directors. Reporting to the CEO, this pivotal role supports the delivery of our corporate plan, upholds robust governance standards, and enhances the overall effectiveness of the Executive team.

More than traditional administrative support, this is a trusted partner position offering both tactical delivery and strategic insight. You will be proactive, solution focused and resilient, someone who anticipates needs, communicates with clarity and professionalism, and contributes positively to a collaborative, high‐performing culture.

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as the primary contact for the CEO, Executive Directors and Board members.
  • Provide high level executive support, managing complex diaries, preparing board and committee papers, coordinating agendas and ensuring timely action tracking.
  • Produce, proofread and edit clear, high-quality reports, presentations and briefing materials.
  • Support governance and strategic activity through research, analysis, market insights and preparation of MI and board documentation.
  • Attend key meetings to capture minutes, monitor actions and facilitate effective decision making.
  • Represent the Society professionally when liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support internal communications, including planning executive updates and Society events.
  • Oversee and manage administrative operations across the Executive Office including direct line management of the PA, ensuring effective coordination of travel, correspondence and general administration.
  • Maintain strong awareness of governance, regulatory and risk requirements, ensuring confidentiality, data protection and adherence to internal policies, including financial crime and Health & Safety responsibilities.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience supporting executives or senior leaders in a corporate, financial services or regulated environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to understand business performance and strategic priorities.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Adobe.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Skilled at building strong relationships at all levels with high levels of discretion and emotional intelligence.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience in a Building Society, bank or financial mutual.
  • Understanding of FCA/PRA regulatory expectations and governance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting Board or senior leadership governance.
