Neway International are seeking an Educational Psychologist to join our client based with London Borough of Bexley. Bexleyâs Childrenâs Services directorate is committed to delivering high-quality early intervention, inclusion support and specialist educational services. The Early Intervention and Specialist Advice Service works closely with schools, families and multiâagency partners to ensure children and young people with special educational needs, social, emotional and mental health needs receive timely, effective and evidenceâbased support.
As an Educational Psychologist, you will support the Local Authority in meeting its statutory duties relating to the identification, assessment and provision for children and young people with SEND. You will provide psychological advice, consultation and intervention as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to improved outcomes at SEN Support and beyond. This role also supports service development, professional guidance and collaborative working across the borough.
Responsibilities- Deliver efficient and professional psychological services in line with legislation, council policies and service standards.
- Provide advice on developmental, learning and social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Contribute to statutory assessments and provide highâquality psychological advice.
- Support service delivery through project work and taskâbased contributions.
- Monitor and report on service effectiveness and time allocation.
- Provide consultation, supervision and advice to colleagues and senior staff.
- Contribute to training and development for schools, parents, carers and partners.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support positive outcomes.
- Maintain upâtoâdate professional knowledge, skills and practice.
- Promote and uphold safeguarding policies and responsibilities.
- Eligibility for registration as an Educational Psychologist with the Health Professions Council.
- Good honours degree in Psychology.
- Postgraduate qualification at Masters or Doctoral level accepted by AEP/BPS as professional training.
- Experience working with children and young people, including those with SEND.
- Experience collaborating with other professionals to support development and learning.
- Knowledge of current approaches, tools and techniques used in Educational Psychology.
- Understanding of legislation relevant to Educational Psychology.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage workload, prioritise effectively and work under pressure.
- High level of applied literacy, numeracy and dataâhandling skills.
- Ability to use supervision constructively and work collaboratively.
- Enhanced DBS required.
- Ability to travel within and outside the borough with necessary equipment.
