As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role within a residential service, supporting the Manager with day-to-day operations and overseeing designated areas of work. You will provide direct care, guide staff, and ensure service users receive personalised, outcome-focused support. The role requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and occasional escorting of service users on holidays.
Responsibilities
- Deliver outcome-based care to support service users in maintaining and developing daily living skills
- Support the Manager with daily operational duties and designated responsibilities
- Provide guidance and support to staff within the residential service
- Maintain positive, caring relationships with service users with varying mental and physical needs
- Communicate effectively with service users, colleagues and external partners
- Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and sleep-in duties as part of a rota
- Escort service users on holidays when required
- Manage challenging situations, including supporting individuals who may be distressed, aggressive or abusive
- Ensure all work aligns with safeguarding responsibilities and organisational policies
Qualifications
- Experience working within adult residential or social care settings
