Barnet Council is seeking an experienced Adult Social Worker (Grade I) to join the Adult MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) team as an Enquiry Officer. This is a temporary assignment covering a vacancy for 12 weeks, with the potential for extension. You will play a key role in safeguarding adults at risk, conducting enquiries, and ensuring compliance with statutory duties under the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake safeguarding enquiries under Care Act Section 42.
- Carry out risk assessments and develop appropriate safeguarding plans.
- Conduct home visits to adults at risk, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to deliver effective safeguarding outcomes.
Qualifications
- Qualified Social Worker with 4+ years' post‑qualification experience.
- Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Care Act 2014.
- Proven experience working within a Safeguarding team.
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound professional decisions.
- Enhanced DBS and full compliance documentation required.
