Overview
Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Admin Assistant to support the Child Protection team during a period of long-term sickness cover. This is a vital role within Children\’s Services & Education, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, sensitive environment.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with internal and external partners via phone and email
- Maintain spreadsheets and record-keeping systems
- Use LA systems to initiate and distribute PEP forms
- Securely share documents and manage confidential information
- Monitor busy inboxes and forward key communications appropriately
Requirements / Qualifications
- High proficiency in MS Office and confident IT skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience in local authority, children\’s services, or school settings (ideal)
- Ability to learn new systems quickly and work independently
- English and Maths qualifications to Grade C GCSE or equivalent
- Willingness to attend an in-person induction day in Keynsham
- Availability to work in person fortnightly on Mondays (preferred) or fully remotely if experienced
