Neway International are seeking a Senior Family Engagement Officer to join our client based with London Borough of Hillingdon.
Location: London Borough of Hillingdon
Hours: 36 per week
Work Pattern: 5 days per week on site (face‑to‑face role)
About the Client
Hillingdon’s Health and Localities service provides vital support to families and communities across the borough. The team ensures that children’s centres are welcoming, safe and accessible spaces where families can receive information, guidance and early help.
The Role
This role is the first point of contact for families and visitors entering the children’s centre. You will create a warm, supportive and professional environment, ensuring families feel welcomed and confident accessing services. The Administrator will manage reception duties, handle enquiries, maintain centre records and support the wider team with coordination and communication tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a welcoming, supportive environment for families entering the centre
- Manage the reception area, ensuring it remains clean, safe and inviting
- Greet all visitors warmly and ensure safety procedures are followed
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, professionals and community users
- Handle enquiries via telephone, email and face‑to‑face contact
- Offer information, advice and guidance on childcare, health, benefits and local services
- Signpost families to appropriate support and community resources
- Gather feedback from centre users and report findings to the Centre Manager
- Maintain the centre diary and calendar, ensuring training, meetings and events are accurately recorded
- Support the team with general administrative duties as required
Candidate Requirements
- 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (C or above) or equivalent (Essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a busy reception environment
- Confident handling enquiries from families and professionals
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in a customer‑facing or administrative role
