Neway International are seeking two Solicitors – Litigation to join our client Southern Housing within the Operations directorate.

Location: Fleet House, 59–61 Clerkenwell Road, London, EC1M 5NW

Hours: 35 per week

Start Date: 16 February 2026

Work Pattern: Week 1: Full‑time office attendance; Weeks 2–5: 3 days office, 2 days remote.

The Role

The Litigation Solicitor will provide specialist legal support across a broad range of housing litigation matters. This includes possession proceedings, disrepair claims, anti‑social behaviour cases, injunctions, tenancy enforcement, and general housing management litigation. You will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and counsel to ensure cases are progressed efficiently and in line with statutory requirements. This is a fast‑paced role requiring strong technical expertise, excellent case management skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting wider organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of housing litigation matters, including possession, disrepair, ASB, injunctions, and tenancy enforcement.
  • Provide clear, accurate legal advice to internal stakeholders across Operations and Housing Services.
  • Prepare legal documentation, witness statements, instructions to counsel, and case bundles.
  • Represent Southern Housing at court hearings where appropriate.
  • Liaise with external solicitors, barristers, enforcement agencies, and partner organisations.
  • Ensure all casework complies with legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Support colleagues with complex legal queries and contribute to risk management.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure timely progression of all matters.
  • Assist with policy development, training, and legal awareness across the organisation.
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with relevant practising rights.
  • Strong experience in housing litigation, including possession, disrepair, ASB, and injunction work.
  • Excellent knowledge of housing law, civil procedure, and relevant legislation.
  • Confident managing a busy caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
  • High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to attend the office full‑time in week one, then 3 days per week thereafter.
