Neway International are seeking Social Workers to join our client based with Powys County Council’s Adults Services Team.
Location: County Hall, Llandrindod Wells, Powys, LD1 5LG (flexible working locations available)
Hours: 37 per week
Start Date: 09 February 2026
Duration: ongoing
Pay Rates:
- PAYE: ÂŁ26.65 per hour
- Limited/Umbrella: ÂŁ34.85 per hour

About the Client: Powys County Council’s Adults Services team provides essential support to older people across the region, ensuring safe, person‑centred care and promoting independence. The service covers a wide rural area, offering flexible working arrangements to support effective caseload management.
The Role: The Social Worker will work within the Older People’s Team, carrying out assessments, care planning, safeguarding, and case management for adults requiring support. The role involves working collaboratively with health partners, families, and community services to deliver high‑quality outcomes for residents across Powys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake strengths‑based assessments and develop care and support plans for older adults.
- Manage a varied caseload in line with statutory duties and local policies.
- Complete safeguarding enquiries and contribute to multi‑agency decision‑making.
- Work closely with health, voluntary sector partners, and families to coordinate support.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure timely reporting.
- Promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for service users.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Experience working with older people within adults’ social care.
- Strong understanding of the Social Services and Well‑being (Wales) Act.
- Ability to work independently across a wide geographical area.
- Strong assessment, communication, and report‑writing skills.
- Car driver with access to transport is highly beneficial due to rural travel.
