Neway International are seeking a Qualified Social Worker to join our client Nottinghamshire County Council.
Location: County Hall, Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, NG2 7QP
Hours: 37 per week (expectation to be on site 2 days per week)
Start Date: 15 December 2025 – ongoing
Pay Rates: PAYE £20.29 per hour / Limited/Umbrella £27.40 per hour

The Role
As a Social Worker within the Urgent & Emergency Care Team, you will work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary hub across Mansfield Community Hospital, Kings Mill Hospital, and Newark Hospital. You will manage complex caseloads, undertake assessments, and coordinate support plans that promote independence and wellbeing. This role requires strong professional judgement, safeguarding expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with health and social care partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex caseloads, undertaking assessments, support planning, and reviews
- Contribute to continuing healthcare assessments and identify reablement opportunities
- Promote strength-based practice to support independence and delay long-term care needs
- Liaise with providers and community networks to deliver effective outcomes
- Undertake safeguarding responsibilities as a Safeguarding Officer
- Act as AMHP, BIA, or ACMP when trained and approved
- Mentor and support less experienced staff, contributing to service development
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Organise and manage workload independently under guidance of senior practitioners
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration
- Experience in adult social care, hospital discharge, or urgent care settings
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, reablement, and strength-based practice
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and deliver high-quality assessments
- Excellent communication and partnership working skills
- Flexibility to cover multiple hospital sites and work on site 2 days per week
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
